Guests take many photos while staying at Ohau House. All photos on this page have been taken by guests and represent moods, seasons, inspiring moments, favourite places, activities, and holiday highlights.

Some guests such as photographer, Célia Mendes (Portugal and New Zealand) display their photos of Ohau House and Lake Ohau online (Flickr and Célia Mendes Photography).

Other guests create blogs and display their photos. 'Life's a picnic' is a honeymoon blog (November 2011).

Song Hong, Beijing, PR China has also captured the mood of clouds in her photos taken during walks while staying at Ohau House. Michael Nitsche, Queensland, Australia has also captured mood and light in his two photos - one from deck of Ohau House and the other while walking nearby.

These photos of Boulder Copper butterflies were taken on the shores of Lake Ohau by Doug Binns. The photos show the male and female butterfly - with the male being the prettier one!

Robyn McLeod from Melbourne, Australia, shows the gorgeous and delicate patterns of lichen on rocks in her photos. The changing patterns of Lake Ohau provide a focus for guest photography too. The lake can sound like sea waves, lap gently, or be silent.

Walking and tramping in nearby Conservation Areas are popular activities for guests. Kim and Jason guests from Wellington, NZ armed with Department of Conservation "Day walks in the MacKenzie basin" braved the famed nor'wester for the Pukaki Kettlehole track and boulders, tripped to Tekapo for the peninsula walkway, made it to the saddle of Ben Ohau (1387m) despite snow the night before, and were blessed with perfect weather for Aoraki/Mt Cook's Hooker Valley track on their last day.

Maadi Cup at nearby Lake Ruataniwha is an important rowing event. The Gravatt family from Auckland took this photo of 'Zac Gravatt' named after their son. First time out, Maadi Cup 2010, Zac got it - bronze!! What a race. Tears of pride all round. It had been 9 years since Auckland Grammar had won a medal in the senior eight at Maadi Cup. The family were so proud they could see Zac grinning from ear to ear.
